I made both of these during school at Sint Joost Illustrated and Animated storytelling. The first assignment was to make an image inspired by a news article. I chose an article about the future of electric cars in China compared to Europe and America. I decided to make a flying car zooming past big office buildings.

The next assignment was to take our illustration and make an abstract version. I decided to make my abstract piece still be something in this futuristic world, so I designed it as a kind of money or transport ticket. I kept some of the big shapes and composition, but let most of the details flow. I tried to add a lot of patterns and overlaying elements just like most money or official documents have.
